Control Panel “Mail” Applet Crashes After Launching

In setting up Outlook profiles for Exchange, I would sometimes see the Outlook profiles screen just crash with “RunDLL32 Windows Host Process Error”. This was very annoying when trying to get things done. Fortunately, the fix is pretty simple:

1. Open Word. Go to File => Options => Advanced => Display section => Check the box “Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration”
